Paris mass protest warns of dangers of Iran’s nuclear ambitions
At a huge demonstration on Saturday (13 June) in Paris، with the participation of thousands of loud cheering people، the National Council of Resistance of Iran welcomed hundreds of guest speakers from all over the world.
Among them a delegation from the European Parliament as well as former leading German politicians such as Gü nther Verheugen (former commissioner) and Rita Sü ssmuth (former president of the German parliament، the Bundestag). Also present were Ingrid Betancourt، former presidential candidate of Colombia and former FARC-hostage، and former French foreign minister، Bernhard Kouchner.
Michael Mukasey (Attorney General of the United States 2007- 2009، and Linda Chavez (former White House director of public liaison) as well as the Generals George Casey (Commander of Multi-National Force Iraq 2004-2007، Chief of Staff of the US Army until 2011) and James Conway (Commander، US Marine Corps 2006-2010، Commanding General of 1st Marine Division، and Commander of 90، 000 US and British forces in Iraq، served two tours of duties in Iraq) were among the US guests. From Canada came Kim Campbell (former prime minister of Canada and the only female prime minister of Canada).
In a very emotional speech، Maryam Rajavi (pictured)، the charismatic leader of the National Council، warned the world against the agreement on controlling the Iranian nuclear programme which، she claimed، would have only one goal – the development of atomic weapons.
